One of the most critical gaps in African healthcare is the complete absence of patient lifting and transfer equipment. Nurses and caregivers are forced to manually lift patients — causing injuries to both staff and patients. These devices are life-changing.
In Nigeria and across Africa, hospitals and care facilities have zero access to mechanical patient lifts. Nurses manually lift bedridden patients every day — leading to caregiver back injuries and patient falls. A single donated Hoyer Lift can serve an entire ward for years. In Nigeria and across Africa, millions of people with disabilities, stroke survivors, amputees, and the elderly have no access to wheelchairs or electric mobility devices. Many are confined to bed for their entire lives simply because no one donated a chair. A wheelchair you no longer use could restore someone's independence and dignity forever.

Oxygen is the single most life-saving medical resource in the world — yet hospitals across Africa run out of it daily. Patients die from pneumonia, COVID complications, asthma, and childbirth emergencies simply because there is no oxygen available. Hospitals upgrade their equipment and surplus concentrators end up in storage. Home health patients recover and no longer need their units. Before you discard or return any oxygen equipment — please donate it to JIBOMED. We will get it to a patient in Africa who needs it desperately.
Millions in medications are discarded yearly by U.S. hospitals, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities. We partner with these institutions to redirect those medications to patients in Africa who desperately need them.
When a patient passes away or changes medication, large quantities of unexpired, sealed medications are often discarded — even when perfectly usable. JIBOMED accepts donations from licensed facilities with proper documentation, cold-chain handling, and safe delivery to partner clinics.

Important Guidelines: All donations must be unexpired, in original sealed packaging, clearly labeled. We do not accept controlled substances (narcotics, opioids), Schedule II–V drugs, or opened/repackaged medications. Temperature-sensitive medications require cold-chain documentation. — Jibril Ahmed, Founder of JIBOMEDJibril Ahmed is a public health and environmental science professional with a lifelong dedication to improving healthcare access in underserved communities across Africa. Originally from Nigeria and now based in Denver, Colorado, he brings a rare blend of medical, military, and environmental health expertise to his humanitarian work.
His career spans over a decade of service in the Nigerian Army Medical Corps, where he served as both a dental therapy professional and paramedic — delivering critical healthcare in some of the most demanding environments imaginable. After relocating to the United States, Jibril continued serving patients directly as a healthcare worker, deepening his understanding of both the abundance of unused medical resources in the U.S. and the desperate shortages in Africa.
The inspiration behind JIBOMED is deeply personal. Growing up in Nigeria and training within the medical field, Jibril witnessed firsthand the tragedy of talented, skilled healthcare professionals unable to practice — not from lack of training, but from lack of equipment, funding, and government support.
